Dialogue Management in an Extension Number Guidance System

This paper describes a dialogue management module for an extension telephone number guidance system. The system is composed of three modules: speech recognition, dialogue management, and speech synthesis. The dialogue management module selects the combination of phrases which best satisfies the dialogue grammar. The module understands dialogue context, generates sentences for speech synthesis and predicts words in the next utterance. Keywords: Dialogue Understanding; Plan Recognition; Word Prediction
