A Three-Dimensional FEM Simulation of the Effects of the Vocal Tract Shape on the Transfer Function

This paper describes an implementation of three-dimensional finite element method to examine the effects of actual vocal-tract shape on the characteristics of acoustic transmission and radiation.

Using a set of finite element models of the vocal tract, we calculated the distributions of sound pressure and transfer responses for vowels.
