Aims. Like ISCA, the AFCP is a French non-profit association (Law 1901) for the support, development, dissemination and promotion of speech science and technology in the French-speaking community. The association organizes several yearly events, notably, the «Journées d’Etude sur la Parole» (JEP) that provides a synthesis of all the work of our scientific community, The "Rencontres Jeunes Chercheurs en Parole" (RJCP) with and for young researchers, the training schools "Journées d’Etude et de Formation sur la Parole (JEFP)" as well as numerous scientific one-day seminars «Les séminaires de l’AFCP». The AFCP gives free access to research and training materials: theses, demos, tools, archives, etc. It also promotes relations between research and industry and initiates cooperation with other scientific organizations (notably TALN with a joint TALN-JEP event every 4 years).
Motivation. The AFCP encourages and facilitates the mobility of young researchers (masters, doctoral and post-doctoral students or unemployed researchers) in connection with the Francophone speech communication community because of their affiliation, language or theme of their research with no discrimination with regards with nationality, religion, race, gender or country of residence of the applicant. The AFCP is also engaged in efforts to raise public awareness and actors in the judicial system regarding the limits of the use of our work in the legal context.
Board. Elections have been organised for the SIG officers on Mars 2013:
