The purpose of the International Speech Communication Association (ISCA) Special Interest Group on Chinese Spoken Language Processing (SIG-CSLP) is to promote research activities and research interests in Chinese Spoken Language Processing; to provide members of ISCA with special interests in Chinese Spoken Language Processing with a means of exchanging recent research developments and experiences; to sponsor meetings, workshops and other events in Chinese Spoken Language Processing; and when possible to make available resources relevant to research in Chinese Spoken Language Processing, including text and speech corpora, analysis tools, research papers and generated data.

The Chinese Spoken Language Processing (CSLP) special interest group was founded in 1997 by Chin-Hui Lee, Haizhou Li, Kim-Teng Lua, Ren-Hua Wang, Taiyi Huang, Lin-shan Lee, Hsiao-Chuan Wang, Chorkin Chan and PC Ching in an effort to provide an English-speaking forum for the international research community, and to advance the state-of-the-art.  In 2002, CSLP was invited to join ISCA and became an ISCA Special Interest Group. ISCSLP is the flagship conference of SIG-CSLP, which is held every two years. The inaugural conference was held in Singapore in 1998.
