SCOOT: Concatenative Synthesis

Speech is produced by joining recorded acoustic segments together. There are ways of doing this which fool the auditory system into believing it is hearing flowing speech from the same speaker, notably PSOLA (Pitch Synchronous Overlap and Add) .
