Incoming elected ISCA Board members will undertake to accept all the responsibilities below prior to taking up their position on the ISCA Board.
1. Follow ISCA’s code of ethics, be a representative of the ISCA community, and ensure that the diverse views of the members of our broad community are duly considered.
2. Attend all in-person and virtual ISCA board meetings unless there is a justifiable reason that has been communicated prior to the meeting to the secretary general or president.
3. Vote on all motions presented to the ISCA board, unless there is a conflict of interest, within the specified deadline (during meetings or electronically).
4. Carry out at least one assigned role while on the ISCA board, and carry out the responsibilities associated with that role.
5. Carry shared responsibility for the proper functioning of the ISCA board.
6. Submit a periodic report on the work completed, ongoing, and planned in their role(s) and any other additional duties which have been assigned to them, covering key achievements and future plans. Reports should be tabled prior to each board meeting.
7. ISCA Board members who default on their responsibilities may be given a warning and/or asked to step down.
8. Before relinquishing a role on the ISCA board, ensure that the successor is fully briefed, and remain in contact as a source of advice to the successor for a year or longer if otherwise agreed with the successor.
