Logo Design Competition

In honor of Interspeech's 25th anniversary, we are excited to launch a competition to design a new ISCA logo!

Image

Overview

Participants should design a logo that embodies ISCA, the home for speech science and technology researchers and innovators. Please take inspiration from ISCA’s mission: to promote activities and exchanges in speech communication science and technology. The logo should not only align with the expectations of ISCA’s existing members but also serve to attract a wider audience, ultimately representing speech and language science and technology.

Feel free to design a logo that's fun, out of the box, and/or connected to the world of speech. Your logo could end up on future ISCA material, including the website, printed material, and ISCA gear.

Selection

All submitted designs will be evaluated by a committee of ISCA board members, ISCA PECRAC, and ISCA-SAC. The committee will choose the top designs for a vote by all ISCA members. The winning design will be chosen by the ISCA vote and the committee, subject to final approval by the ISCA board, and may be the current logo. The decision will be final and binding.

The designers of all logos selected for the ISCA vote will receive a $50 Amazon card (note: a maximum of 10 will be selected). The creator of the winning ISCA logo will receive a $100 Amazon card. The name of the winning entrant will be acknowledged on the ISCA website.

The competition will be formally launched at Interspeech 2025. Designs are due October 25th. We look forward to seeing your design. Please contact the ISCA Communications Committee (communication@isca-speech.org) if you have any questions.

Design Guidelines

  1. The logo must reflect ISCA’s values, mission, and vision for the future (see ISCA’s webpage to learn more).
  2. The final logo should be visually appealing on both small (as small as 2 cm x 2 cm) and large scales (e.g., in the upper left corner of ISCA’s website or on a coffee mug).
  3. A recommendation is to keep the logo to 2-3 colors with a transparent background.
  4. The colors must be CMYK, though the logo may also be reproduced in black and white. It is advised to avoid gradients and half-tones. The logo must be submitted in one of the following formats: JPEG, PNG, vector files like AI or EPS. The winning entry must later be submitted in EPS.

Submission information

  1. The contest is open to the community (all those ages 18 and older) and closes on October 25. Late submissions will not be considered.
  2. Submissions must include the full name of the person who designed the logo, email address, ISCA membership number (if any), postal address, and telephone number.
  3. There is no fee to enter the contest.
  4. All entrants must affirm that their submissions are their own original work, have not been copied from others or from previous designs, including their own, and do not violate the intellectual property rights of any other person or entity.
  5. By participating in the contest, participants grant permission to ISCA to use their names, images, and submitted designs for promotional purposes.
  6. You must be the legal owner of any submissions that you submit.
  7. The winning design’s copyright will be transferred to ISCA. ISCA will have complete freedom to use it, either in whole or in part, or to modify it at the time and in the manner it deems necessary.
  8. Please submit logos here.
